Information we collect
We collect details you choose to send, such as your name, email address, phone number, county, Eircode or address, electricity usage, quote details, installer claim details, uploaded quote files and the message you submit.
We also collect normal website technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, form source and basic security logs. This helps keep the site working, prevent spam and understand which pages are useful.
How we use it
We use submitted details to answer solar questions, process quote requests, check quote or project details, review installer claims, improve directory listings, send operational notifications and, only where you separately consent, connect homeowners with relevant solar installers. The legal bases we rely on are your consent where requested, steps taken at your request before a service is provided, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the site.
Quote, question and claim enquiries are stored in WordPress and may be sent by email or to connected workflow tools such as n8n for notification, review and lead handling. Quote assistant text may be processed by AI services to generate an advisory response. PDF uploads are stored privately for review; they are not published and should be deleted when no longer needed for the request, normally within 90 days unless a dispute, legal requirement or ongoing consented enquiry requires longer retention.
Sharing
We do not sell personal contact details as a mailing list. If you ask for quotes or installer matching and give consent, we may share the enquiry details needed to respond with up to 3 relevant installer partners covering your area. We may also use hosting, email, analytics, security and automation providers to operate the site.
Directory data
Installer listings may include publicly available business information and submitted corrections. Places-derived ratings and reviews are currently hidden while SolarGuide finalises its Google Maps Platform compliance design. Listings are not treated as verified until reviewed or claimed. Where Google Maps Platform content is used, the applicable Google Maps terms and Google Privacy Policy apply.
Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete your personal enquiry details, subject to reasonable record keeping, security and legal requirements. To do this, contact us through the site forms or email an active SolarGuide.ie mailbox.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses essential cookies for WordPress, security, forms, login sessions, e-commerce functions and cache behaviour. Analytics and advertising tags are currently disabled pending consent and measurement QA. If enabled later, they will not load or create identifiers until you opt in through the consent tool.
